Mortgaged house sales decreased by 49.14% in February compared to the same period of the previous year

Mortgage sales were announced as 8,827 units in February 2024, decreasing by 49.14% compared to the same month of the previous year. In February 2024, the share of mortgage sales in total housing sales was 9.40%. When we look at the end of February 2024, total mortgage sales decreased by approximately 49.14% compared to mortgage sales in the same period of 2023. As of the end of February 2024, the rate of new sales in total housing sales remained around 30.45%. In the same period of 2023, this rate was 29.33%.

How has the situation changed in metropolitan cities?

If we look specifically at Istanbul, Izmir and Ankara; As of the end of February 2024, it is seen that cumulative housing sales decreased by approximately 8.1% in Istanbul, 11.9% in Ankara and 6.3% in Izmir compared to the same period in 2023.

Housing sales to foreigners decreased by 44.90% in January compared to the same month last year.

Housing sales to foreigners were announced as 1,846 units in February 2024, decreasing by 44.90% compared to the same month of the previous year. As of the end of February 2024, the proportion of the cumulative number of houses sold to foreigners in total sales is 2.2%. In the same period of 2023, this rate was 4.2%.

In February 2024, Antalya took the first place with the sale of 659 houses. Antalya was followed by Istanbul with 691 house sales and Mersin with 151 house sales. In February 2024, Russia again ranked first in housing purchases. In February 2024, Russia ranked first in the country rankings with the number of house sales of 395. Iran came second with 200 house sales and Ukraine came third with 105 house sales.
