1 million 200 thousand tons of apples were produced in Isparta

After reaching the targeted 1 million 200 thousand tons of apple harvest in Isparta this year, Isparta Agriculture and Forestry Manager Eyup Adiguzel said, “We are planning to sell 200 thousand tons of apples by the end of the year.”

In Isparta, where approximately one fourth of the apple production in Turkiye is realized, the harvest that started in October ended. The desired yield was obtained this year in Isparta apples, which are mostly grown in Eğirdir, Gelendost and Senykent counties.

“APPLE PRODUCTION WAS REALIZED ON 222 THOUSAND DECARES”

Eyup Adiguzel, Director of Agriculture and Forestry in Isparta, said that apple production in the region was realized on an area of 222 thousand decares.

Stating that they reached the 1 million 200 thousand tons of harvest they targeted in the apple harvest, Adiguzel said, “We are increasing the apple yield per unit area by renewing the aging trees. We plan to increase the apple harvest even more in the coming seasons.”

Adiguzel noted that the producers put their apples in cold storage after the harvest.

Stating that the kilogram price of apples from cold storage is ₺7.5, Adiguzel said, “We are planning to sell 200 thousand tons of apples by the end of the year. We have approached our target by selling 180 thousand tons so far. Our apple season has been very good this year.”
