105 thousand houses were sold in Turkiye in March

In Turkiye, 105 thousand 476 houses were sold in March. The number of houses sold in March decreased by 21.4% compared to the same month of the previous year.

Turkish Statistical Institute announced the house sales statistics for March.

Accordingly, house sales across Turkiye decreased by 21.4% in March compared to the same month of the previous year and became 105 thousand 476. Istanbul had the highest share in house sales with 18 thousand 166 houses and 17.2%. According to the number of sales, Istanbul was followed by Ankara with 12 thousand 23 house sales and 11.4% share, and Antalya with 6 thousand 120 sales and 5.8% share. The provinces with the lowest number of house sales were Ardahan with 23 houses, Hakkari with 54 houses and Bayburt with 69 houses, respectively.

Mortgage housing sales amounted to 25 thousand 262

Mortgage housing sales decreased by 16.5% in March compared to the same month of the previous year and became 25 thousand 262. The share of mortgaged sales in total housing sales was 24.0%. Mortgaged house sales in the January-March period, on the other hand, decreased by 13.9%compared to the same period of the previous year and became 58,822.

The number of first-hand housing sales was 32 thousand 899

The number of first-hand house sales in Turkiye decreased by 14.2% in March compared to the same month of the previous year and became 32 thousand 899. The share of first hand house sales in total house sales was 31.2%. In the January-March period, the first hand house sales decreased by 11.2% compared to the same period of the previous year and amounted to 83 thousand 907.

72 thousand 577 houses changed hands in second-hand house sales

Second-hand house sales across Turkiye decreased by 24.3% in March compared to the same month of the previous year and became 72 thousand 577. The share of second-hand housing sales in total housing sales was 68.8%. Second-hand house sales, on the other hand, decreased by 11.7% in the January-March period compared to the same period of the previous year, and amounted to 199,308.

3 thousand 415 houses were sold to foreigners in March

Housing sales to foreigners decreased by 38.7% compared to the same month of the previous year and became 3,415. In March, the share of house sales to foreigners in total house sales was 3.2%. Antalya took the first place in house sales to foreigners with 1,324 house sales. Antalya was followed by Istanbul with 1,090 house sales and Mersin with 240 house sales, respectively.

Housing sales to foreigners decreased by 23.8% in the January-March period compared to the same period of the previous year and became 10 thousand 926.

According to the nationality of the country, the most house sales were made to the citizens of the Russian Federation.

In March, citizens of the Russian Federation bought 1,175 houses from Turkiye. Citizens of the Russian Federation were followed by Iran with 472 residences, Iraq with 165 residences and Ukraine with 160 residences.
