ISTANBUL, September 4, 2026 — AJet’s Wing Up Program, designed to give university students practical experience in the aviation industry, has graduated its first participants, with 15 students starting full-time positions at the airline as of September 1.
The program received 2,500 applications, from which 47 university students were selected. The first phase of Wing Up began on April 6, 2026, with students working part-time across various departments and directorates at AJet’s headquarters.
15 students transition to full-time employment
While the program is still ongoing, 15 participants who completed their university degrees have transitioned from part-time positions to full-time employment at AJet.
The 15 graduates represent approximately one-third of the 47 students selected for the program’s first cohort, giving them the opportunity to begin their professional careers at the airline before the program officially concludes.
Students gain hands-on airport experience
As part of the Wing Up Program, participating students also took part in an “Operation Day” event organized by AJet at Sabiha Gökçen International Airport.
Students who had been working in different departments at AJet’s headquarters were able to observe airport operations firsthand.
They first visited the airline’s Ground Operations Department, where they observed check-in counters, ticketing and baggage-handling procedures. They then visited the Crew Room to learn about the daily working routines of flight and cabin crews.
From the apron to the aircraft hangar
The students also joined flight and cabin crews on the airport apron, gaining a closer look at aircraft and ground operations.
They subsequently visited AJet’s Integrated Operations Department, before completing the tour at the aircraft hangar, where aircraft maintenance is carried out and cabin equipment is installed on newly added aircraft.
Through the program, students were able to see how AJet’s airport operations function in practice—from ground handling and flight operations to aircraft maintenance—during the busy summer travel season.
