261.58 Billion Allocated for Railway Projects This Year in Türkiye

A total of ₺261 billion 580 million has been allocated this year from the national budget for the completion of 91 railway projects launched in Türkiye since 2016.

According to data compiled from the 2026 Investment Program, the transportation and communications sector has been allocated an overall budget of ₺508 billion 166 million 500 thousand.

Within this framework, funding has been planned for 91 railway projects, including 54 projects under the General Directorate of Turkish State Railways (TCDD), 15 projects under TCDD Taşımacılık AŞ, and 22 projects carried out by the Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure. The total planned railway investment amounts to ₺261.58 billion.

With the allocated budget, some of the ongoing major projects included in the investment program are expected to be completed in 2026, while others are scheduled for completion by 2032.

₺38 Billion for TCDD Taşımacılık Projects

TCDD Taşımacılık AŞ has been allocated a total of ₺38 billion, including ₺24 billion 274 million 207 thousand for ongoing projects and ₺13 billion 725 million 793 thousand for new projects.

These investments, which include major projects such as the procurement of diesel-electric mainline locomotives and national electric train sets, are planned to be completed by 2028.

₺111.58 Billion Allocated to TCDD General Directorate

The TCDD General Directorate has been allocated ₺111 billion 580 million during this period. With this funding, construction is set to continue on several major railway projects, including:

  • Çerkezköy–Kapıkule High-Speed Railway
  • Adana–Osmaniye–Gaziantep High-Speed Railway
  • Sivas–Erzincan High-Speed Railway
  • Konya–Karaman–Niğde (Ulukışla)–Mersin (Yenice)–Adana High-Speed Railway
  • Development Road Project
  • Ankara–Polatlı–Afyonkarahisar–Uşak–Manisa–İzmir High-Speed Railway
  • Adana Organized Industrial Zone (OSB)–Yakapınar Connection Line
  • İskenderun OSB Connection Line
  • Aerospace and Aviation Specialized OSB and Ankara Logistics Base Connection Line
  • Çorum–Samsun High-Speed Railway

₺112 Billion for Ministry-Led Railway Investments

The Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure has allocated ₺112 billion for railway investments under its responsibility.

With this budget, the ministry aims to implement numerous projects, including connection line feasibility studies in 59 provinces, improvements to the Gebze–Haydarpaşa and Sirkeci–Halkalı suburban lines, and the construction of major routes such as:

  • Gebze–Yavuz Sultan Selim Bridge–Istanbul Airport–Çatalca High-Standard Railway
  • Yerköy–Kayseri High-Standard Railway
