Rize-Artvin Airport will be opened at the end of the year

AK Party Deputy Chairman Hayati Yazici said that Rize-Artvin Airport, which has an annual passenger capacity of 3 million, will be put into service at the end of this year.

Yazici, who met with the managers of his party at the restaurant in Derepazari district center, received information about the ongoing investments in the city.

After the meeting, which was closed to the press, Yazici visited the Rize Provincial President of the AK Party, Ishak Alim, and the shopkeepers.

Hayati Yazici told Anadolu Agency (AA) that he had the opportunity to examine the Nation’s Garden and Organized Industrial Zone as part of the two-day Rize program.

Emphasizing that the local architecture-specific urban transformation in the world-famous Ayder Plateau with the construction of Rize-Artvin Airport continues rapidly, he stated that these are very valuable investments.

Underlining that Rize-Artvin Airport will be the second airport in Turkey to fill the sea, Yazici said, “It will function very effectively. It is an airport with a capacity of carrying 3 million passengers per year. It will both ease transportation and, with the completion of the airport, will make a great contribution to the region in terms of both domestic and foreign tourism potential in terms of the region’s very unique geographical structure, highland tourism and rivers. Hopefully, it will be opened at the end of this year.”

“WE WILL ENSURE AYDER’S TRANSFORMATION WITHOUT DELAYING TOO MUCH”

Pointing out that Ayder Plateau is a brand value for tourism, Yazici said, “It was growing and developing in an uncontrolled way. It was prevented.”

Yazici stated that the works were carried out by the Ministry of Environment and Urbanization and TOKI, and that President Recep Tayyip Erdogan was directly interested in and following large projects, and made the following assessment:

“TOKI continues to work on a project that will beautify Ayder, purify it from bad buildings and take a shape in harmony with nature. On the one hand, construction activities continue, parking and accommodation units there. Hopefully, we will ensure the transformation of Ayder without delay. As a brand tourism center, we will offer it to both domestic and foreign tourists.”

Hayati Yazici also made various visits to Cayeli district and met with the citizens.
