Stating that Turkish salmon was exported to 13 countries in the first half of the year, Yildirim said that approximately 54% of the export was made to the Russian Federation.

Yildirim stated that this year, a significant amount of demand was received from Japan and the People’s Republic of China, so that exports to these two countries increased by more than 100%.

Emphasizing that the intense demand for Turkish salmon from foreign markets should be evaluated very well, Yildirim said that it is urgent for the relevant ministries to expand their production areas by solving the problems faced by the sector.

Yildirim stated that as DKIB, they have started work to effectively promote Turkish salmon in foreign markets. In this context, Yildirim stated that they promoted the “Turkish salmon” brand in leading international fairs and noted that their aim was to make the product an important brand of the country.
