BBX Baby Kids Tekstil, a Bursa-based textile company established in 1965 and operating two factories, has been declared bankrupt after failing to overcome its financial difficulties through a temporary concordat process.
The company had previously been granted a three-month temporary concordat period as it struggled with its debts. However, the court determined that the company was insolvent and could not be rescued through the restructuring process.
Court declares bankruptcy
The Bursa 2nd Commercial Court of First Instance ruled on August 19, 2026, that BBX Baby Kids Tekstil should be declared bankrupt.
The company, which had been operating in Bursa for 61 years, had exported its products to 24 countries. Despite its international customer base and two production facilities, it was unable to overcome its financial difficulties.
The bankruptcy decision highlights the continued financial pressure facing companies in Türkiye’s manufacturing and textile sectors, where rising costs and financing conditions have placed significant strain on businesses.
BBX Baby Kids Tekstil’s bankruptcy followed the temporary concordat process, a legal mechanism that allows financially distressed companies to restructure their debts and seek protection from creditors while attempting to restore their financial viability. In this case, the court concluded that the company was too deeply indebted to be saved through concordat proceedings.
