70 thousand passengers traveled with Ankara-Sivas High Speed ​​Train

70 thousand passengers traveled on 120 trips in 20 days on the Ankara-Sivas High Speed ​​Line.

Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Adil Karaismailoglu gave information about the Ankara-Sivas High Speed ​​Train Line, which they put into service on April 26.

Expressing that the length of the high-speed train line has reached 2 thousand 228 kilometers with the opening of this route, Karaismailoglu said, “We are taking firm steps towards the goal of knitting the country with iron nets.”

Reminding that the Ankara-Sivas High Speed ​​Train Line will provide free service between April 27 and May 31, Karaismailoglu said that the citizens showed great interest in the expeditions. Karaismailoglu said, “We carried 70 thousand passengers on 120 flights between April 27 and May 16. We anticipate that approximately 120,000 passengers will travel between April 27 and May 31.”

Ankara-Sivas journey takes 2 hours

Emphasizing that with the project, approximately 1 million 400 thousand citizens have the opportunity to travel by high-speed train, Karaismailoglu stated that there are even 8 stations, namely Elmadag, Kirikkale, Yerkoy, Yozgat, Sorgun, Akdagmadeni, Yildizeli and Sivas.

Minister Karaismailoglu said:

“With our line, we reduced the Ankara-Sivas distance from 603 kilometers to 405 kilometers. We reduced the rail travel time from 12 hours to 2 hours, and the distance between Ankara and Yozgat to 1 hour. In fact, we built 49 tunnels with a length of 66 kilometers and 49 viaducts with a length of 27 kilometers. We built the longest tunnel of the project with 5 thousand 125 meters in Akdagmadeni and the longest railway viaduct with 2 thousand 220 meters in Cerikli-Kirikkale. We built the railway viaduct with the highest pillar of Turkiye in Elmadag with a height of 89 meters. For the first time on the high-speed train line, we have laid a total of 1676 kilometers of rail using domestic rail. We have implemented the first ballastless road, namely concrete road, in tunnels with 138 kilometers of concrete roads. As part of the project, we built a local and national ice prevention and defrosting facility in Sivas.”
