$9.6 billion export from the electrical-electronics sector

In the January-August period, a total of $9 billion 620 million of electrical and electronics exports were realized, of which $4.3 billion -to EU countries, $1.3 billion to other European countries and $1.1 billion to Middle East countries.

According to the information compiled from the data of the Turkish Exporters Assembly (TIM), the electricity-electronics sector, which made exports of $1 billion 204 million in August 2021, realized an export of $1 billion 256 million with an increase of 4.3% in the same period of this year.

In January-August 2022, the sector realized an export of $9 billion 620 million with an increase of 6% compared to the same period of the previous year.

$623 million of the sector’s exports last month was made from Istanbul. Istanbul was followed by Manisa with $184 million and Ankara with $75 million.

Of the $9.6 billion exports of the electrical-electronics sector in the January-August period of this year, $4.8 billion was made from Istanbul, $1.3 billion from Manisa and $544 million from Denizli.

Most exports were made to the United Kingdom

The most exported country in the sector last month was the United Kingdom with $129 million. Germany followed with $110 million and France with $68 million. In the January-August period, the sector exported $1 billion to the United Kingdom, $873 million to Germany and $556 million to France.

Looking at the country groups with the highest exports in the electrical and electronics sector last month, EU countries ranked first with $559 million, other European countries with $174 million, and Middle East countries with $149 million.

When we look at the exports made to these country groups in 8 months, $4.3 billion to EU countries, $1.3 billion to other European countries and $1.1 billion to Middle East countries.
