9 Start-ups Proved Themselves In The Kalyon PV SolarUp Acceleration Program

Kalyon PV Adds a New One to Its Breakthroughs in the Field of Renewable Energy with SolarUp Acceleration Program

More than a hundred applications were received for the SolarUp Acceleration Program organized by Kalyon PV, which aims to meet with scalable technology solutions that can have an impact in the sustainable energy sector. Nine of the projects proved to be a scalable business model.

Ersan Tufekci, CEO of Kalyon PV, in the closing speech of the program, said; “Kalyon PV is the biggest investment ever made in Turkiye in its field… Our goal is to be a production center that not only develops solar panels, but also develops technology. With this project, which is a first in our sector, we aim to inspire other sectors as well.”

Kalyon PV, which produces renewable energy and technologies with the aim of leaving a healthy world to future generations, started the production process in the “SolarUp Acceleration Program”, which it started with the slogan “Energy that heals the nature”. More than a hundred projects applied to the program, which was organized to implement innovative projects. Nine projects participating in the program have proven to be an innovative and scalable business model by adhering to the PoC (Proof of Concept) process. The closing ceremony of the program was held with the participation of Haluk Kalyoncu, Chairman of the Board of Kalyon Energy, and Kubra Kalyoncu Seherli, Chairman of the Board of Kalyon PV.

Haluk Kalyoncu, Chairman of the Board of Kalyon Energy, who carefully examined all the presentations, said, “Kalyon Holding acts with the 4T approach, which it defines as Society, Nature, Design and Technology, in every step it takes for a sustainable life. As Kalyon Energy, we continue to work within the framework of this vision. While working with the mission of a sustainable society, we also consider it a duty to benefit all our stakeholders. We develop projects with high added value with our affiliates” and continued his words as follows:

“Kalyon PV, which gathers all four stages of solar panel production under the same roof, aims to increase its domestic production power while supporting innovative technology and business models with SolarUp. In this respect, SolarUp fully coincides with the principles and vision of our Holding.
All projects that applied to SolarUp were more valuable than the other. However, while determining the final projects, we took care to match our Holding’s 4T vision and the needs of our Kalyon PV plant. Speaking at the ceremony, Kalyon PV CEO Ersan Tufekci said, “While implementing the projects of start-ups with the SolarUp Acceleration Program, we have seen that there are young people and project owners in Turkiye who are integrated with the world, producing innovative and creative ideas. This motivated us a lot. We evaluated over 100 projects and contacted thousands of project owners. The innovative ideas we received increased our excitement about the SolarUp Acceleration Program and made us count the days to bring it to life.”

Tufekci stated that after a long and grueling evaluation process, they concluded that 9 projects are suitable for Kalyon PV and Kalyon Karapinar SPP with their scalable, promising and innovative business model; “We will now test the sustainability of these 9 projects that have proven successful. Projects that come out of this process successfully can turn into long-term business partners of Kalyon PV. I wish this partnership to be formed with all our projects.”
