Abu Dhabi–based sovereign wealth fund Mubadala Investment Company is in negotiations to join a group of major investors pursuing a nearly $10 billion acquisition of data center assets in Singapore, marking a significant move into the global digital infrastructure market.
According to a report by AGBI, the talks involve a consortium led by Singapore Telecommunications (Singtel) and global private equity firm KKR, which aims to acquire ST Telemedia Global Data Centres (STT GDC).
Global Data Center Operator
STT GDC is a major player in the digital infrastructure sector, operating more than 100 data centers worldwide and providing cloud, colocation, and connectivity services across regional and global markets.
Potential Landmark Deal for Asia
Sources indicate that negotiations are at an advanced stage. Mubadala’s potential participation reflects its strategy to expand digital infrastructure investments at a time when artificial intelligence applications and global data traffic are growing rapidly.
While the transaction has not yet been officially announced, completion of the deal would represent one of the largest data center investment transactions ever undertaken in Asia.
Mubadala’s Investments in Türkiye
In recent years, Mubadala has made notable investments in Türkiye, particularly in the technology and rapid-delivery sectors. Beginning in 2021, the fund became one of the largest investors in Istanbul-based quick-commerce company Getir, playing a leading role in a 2022 funding round that valued the company at $12 billion.
However, following a post-pandemic decline in demand, Getir significantly scaled back its operations in Europe and the United States, complicating Mubadala’s investment position. In 2024, Mubadala injected additional capital into Getir to refocus on the Turkish market, increasing its management control over the company’s online grocery and food delivery operations in Türkiye.
In late 2025, Reuters reported that Mubadala was awaiting approval from the Turkish Competition Authority for a deal to sell Getir’s “Getir Food” business unit to Uber Eats’ Turkey operations.
