
MKK to Host Global Finance Leaders from 44 Countries at Istanbul Finance Summit
The AECSD & AMEDA Istanbul Summit 2024, hosted by Turkiye’s Merkezi Kayıt Kuruluşu (MKK), is set to bring together financial leaders and central securities depositories from over 44 countries. Scheduled for October 2-4, 2024, at the Istanbul Finance Center, the summit aims to enhance international cooperation and strengthen investment opportunities across Eurasia, Africa, and the Middle East.
MKK’s Expanding Global Reach
During the summit’s promotional event, MKK General Manager Dr. Ekrem Arıkan highlighted the institution’s continued expansion in financial services, technological innovation, and international collaboration. He noted that MKK has successfully grown its product and service network, further positioning Turkiye as a key player in the global financial landscape.
- Global Membership: MKK is part of four out of the five global central securities depository unions, enhancing its international influence.
- Technological Exports: Since 2020, MKK has exported its Electronic General Meeting System (EGKS) to countries like Indonesia, marking a milestone in financial technology exports.

With participation from more than 40 countries, the AECSD & AMEDA Summit is expected to bring together representatives from capital markets serving nearly 3 billion people. According to Dr. Arıkan, the combined market capitalization of these countries totals around $16 trillion, with 11,000 publicly traded companies and an annual trading volume of $8.6 trillion.
The summit aims to foster new partnerships, introduce market innovations, and set the stage for future growth in the capital markets of Eurasia, Africa, and the Middle East.
