ISTANBUL — Akbank and Türkiye’s Credit Guarantee Fund (KGF) have introduced a fully digital loan solution that enables small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) to apply for and receive KGF-guaranteed loans through Akbank Mobile within minutes, eliminating the need to visit a bank branch. The initiative marks the first end-to-end digital KGF-guaranteed lending process in Türkiye.
The new Digital KGF Loan allows eligible businesses to complete the entire application and loan disbursement process digitally via the mobile banking app. The service is designed to simplify access to financing, particularly for SMEs that require guarantee support to secure credit.
Under the program, sole proprietorships can access loans of up to TRY 2.2 million, while corporate SMEs are eligible for financing of up to TRY 5 million. The loans are backed by an 80% KGF guarantee and offer repayment terms of up to 36 months, including a grace period of up to six months.
Speaking at the launch ceremony, Akbank CEO Kaan Gür said the bank continues to use technology to make banking services more accessible for businesses, adding that the partnership enables customers to obtain KGF-backed financing through a completely digital process for the first time in the country. KGF General Manager Hasan Basri Kurt said the initiative will improve SMEs’ access to financing while supporting investment and working capital needs through a faster and more efficient lending process.
The collaboration represents a significant step in the digital transformation of SME banking in Türkiye, streamlining one of the country’s most widely used government-backed financing mechanisms and reducing administrative procedures for businesses seeking credit.
