Alarko Group CEO Ümit Yıldız said, “With our Kazakhstan investment, we are excited to take Türkiye’s agricultural expertise and technology beyond our borders.” Alarko Agriculture has officially opened its new greenhouse facility in Kazakhstan, covering 40 hectares of enclosed space.
According to the company statement, the first phase of the project—launched last year in Shymkent—has now been completed. Operating under the Alsera KZ brand, the group plans to expand its greenhouse operations in Kazakhstan to 500 hectares by the end of 2029, contributing significantly to the region’s food supply.
The opening ceremony was attended by Kazakhstan’s Minister of Agriculture Aidarbek Saparov, Türkiye’s Consul General in Turkistan Levent Gürcan, First Deputy Mayor of Shymkent Aydın Karimov, Alarko Holding Chairman İzzet Garih, and senior executives from the company.
High-Tech, Sustainable Greenhouse Model
The group’s agricultural operations prioritize sustainability, environmental impact, and social benefit. The Kazakhstan project supports regional development through a model of high-efficiency, residue-free, export-oriented production.
Equipped with AI-assisted climate control, automated irrigation, and advanced agricultural monitoring technologies, the greenhouse stands out as one of Kazakhstan’s most modern facilities. In the first stage, the site will focus on tomato production, using a clean, high-yield system designed for international markets.
Operating across modern greenhouse farming, seed breeding, specialty fertilizers, and dried food products, Alarko is among Türkiye’s largest greenhouse operators.
Over the past two years, the group has invested nearly $300 million in agriculture. Under the Alsera brand, it runs 120 hectares of modern greenhouses in Afyonkarahisar, Denizli, and Eskişehir, exporting certified “zero residue” tomatoes to 33 countries, primarily in Europe.
These greenhouses are heated with geothermal energy and equipped with digital agriculture technologies, pioneering a sustainable production model that uses innovative pest control methods.
“We Took the First Step in Bringing Our Production Model to Kazakhstan”
CEO Ümit Yıldız emphasized that Alarko aims to transfer its deep expertise, innovation capacity, and sustainable production approach to Kazakhstan.
Yıldız stated:
“Alsera, the flagship company of our Agriculture Group, has grown to over 120 hectares and is now one of Türkiye’s largest modern greenhouse investors. With our Kazakhstan investment, we are excited to extend our agricultural know-how and technology across borders.”
He added that the 40-hectare facility is the first phase of a project expected to reach 500 hectares by 2029:
“This marks the beginning of a long-term partnership that will benefit both countries. The investment also stands as a concrete symbol of the economic cooperation and friendship between Türkiye and Kazakhstan.”
