The new design of Amperino, the electric car project created by six industrialists in Bursa’s Inegol district, attracted attention.
The design, which is called the first electric microcar for 3 people, was shared by the Chairman of the Board of Directors, Yakup Canseven.
Pointing out that Amperino will not travel 150 kilometers and cause parking problems to its users, Yakup Canseven said that the mass production of the car, which will start in 2025, can be driven by 16-year-olds with an A2 license. Amperino delegation visited the Minister of Industry and Technology Mustafa Varank in Ankara and conveyed the final stage of the project. Minister Varank also stated that they will support Amperino as in every domestic and national project.
While talking about Togg, the first domestic and national car that started to be produced in Gemlik, Turkiye, the electric car project Amperino, carried out in Inegol, causes a sweet excitement.
Saloni Furniture, operating in Inegol, announced the electric vehicle project Amperino to the public last year by joining forces with Erhun Furniture Equipment, Yol Furniture, Lenova Furniture, Orimak Makina and Ion Mechatronics. At the end of 2023, after the first prototype of the vehicle is produced and the type test is taken, the serial production of the 3-seater vehicle will start in 2025. Yakup Canseven, Chairman of Amperino, which will be suitable for urban use, explained how the project emerged, its development and its goals.
Stating that they started research during the pandemic period and finally decided to produce an urban electric car in 2019 and announced it to the public, Yakup Canseven said, “When we did this, we didn’t even have an engineer. I was the only technical person as a mathematical engineer. We have engineers within Erhun, but we did not have a technical team specialized in electric vehicles and automotive.”
We explained the project to these friends, whom we know to have full confidence in us due to the production and commercial success of Saloni and Erhun. With this confidence, our friends believed in us and became partners in the project. We started to build an engineering team.
We submitted an offer to three leading engineers in design, chassis and battery, and software in a local company operating in the electric car sector in Cyprus before. Our friends were convinced and believed in the project. Thus, we have established the first core staff. The vehicles they produced in Cyprus have passed 50 thousand kilometers each. These three of our lead engineers later also became shareholders of the project. We currently have 35 friends.
We are currently developing our own technology. All technologies of the vehicle belong to us from A to Z. Aspilsan will also produce the battery we will use in June 2023. If it happens, the battery will also be completely local. For the first time in Turkiye, cooling technology will be used in the battery.
The Real Time Communication System (GIS) was developed by Amperino engineers for the first time in Turkiye and will be used in our vehicle. The hub motor to be used in electric vehicles in the L6-L7 class was produced for the first time in Turkiye. We developed its technologies and shared it with Femsan, a company that produces engines and serves the defense industry in Istanbul, and developed the engine. The R&D and production of the engine has been completed, now we will have tried that engine on our second version chassis.”
CAN GO UP TO 150 KM, THERE WILL BE NO PARKING PROBLEM
Explaining that Amperino, which is the top class of electric vehicles known as the L7 class and a subclass of currently used M class passenger cars, is a segment that can be used by 16-year-olds with A2 license, Canseven said; “Our vehicle, which will have a maximum speed of 90 km and a range of 150 km, can go to the highway. The trim design was made by Sedat Ozturk, who has 23 years of experience in the sector. The software is completely developed in the IT Valley and Inegol office of Amperino company.
There is no engine in this electric vehicle. Therefore, we placed the driver in the middle, positioned the pedal and the steering wheel in the front, leaving us room for two in the back. We are not making an intercity vehicle, we are making Amperino for urban transportation.
An ordinary person in the world makes a maximum of 40 kilometers when he leaves home in the morning and returns home in the evening. If he is not a marketer, but a business owner, he does not exceed 40 kilometers. This is 60 kilometers in Istanbul and 58 kilometers in Bangkok. When you hit the average, the world average is 37 kilometers. Why would you build a huge vehicle, with bigger kilometers, and bigger batteries for this?
Our vehicle is very small right now. You can even park vertically in places that are parked horizontally. Make sure that; You will receive your city and intercity vehicle separately. Now businesses will look at; how much electricity do you use, how much of it do you get from renewable energy? Otherwise, they will not be able to export or they will hardly sell what they produce.
Even the personal carbon footprint can be followed, such days are not far away. If we do not take these measures, unfortunately, the world will become uninhabitable in 20-30 years. We want to contribute to this with Amperino. In fact, this is one of the aims of the project. We are planning to manufacture the body of the vehicle from linen-based bio-fiber materials. In this way, when the vehicle reaches its economic life, many parts of it will be reintroduced to nature. It is very valuable to make such a vehicle electric anyway.”
MASS PRODUCTION IN 2025
Canseven continued his words as follows: “We are currently concentrating on the construction of the vehicle, but there are companies that call us for dealership almost every day. Actually, the point is, we know this very well from furniture; when you make something that is right, high quality and serves a purpose, it is already in demand. Therefore, we are on the side of putting the right product in. When you do this, a market inevitably emerges.
When the production numbers increase to 40-50 thousand annually, systems such as a dealership and distributorship will definitely be formed. We are currently taking our notes on incoming requests. At the end of 2023, we will make the first prototype of our vehicle and decide on the mass production place and process after taking the type test. Since the mass production process will take 1-1,5 years, we will start mass production in 2025. Meanwhile, meetings with investors will become more frequent.”
NEW DESIGN HAS BEEN SHARED
