Application deadline for TEKNOFEST Drone Championships is April 1st

Applications continue for the Turkey Drone Championship and the World Drone Cup, organized as part of the TEKNOFEST Aviation, Space and Technology Festival.

According to the statement made by TEKNOFEST, the Turkish Drone Championship, which has been held in our country since 2017 with the approval of the Ministry of Youth and Sports and has been included in the scope of TEKNOFEST since 2019, is the scene of a great competition in the air. All persons holding an athlete license issued by the Provincial Directorates of the Ministry of Youth and Sports under the Unmanned Aerial Vehicles Branch of the Turkish Air Sports Federation can participate in the Turkey Drone Championship with an individual application.

The first stage of the Turkish Drone Championship, which will again consist of 3 stages this year, will take place in Kastamonu on 10-12 June, the second stage in Sinop on 1-3 July, and the third stage in Artvin on 19-21 August.

Athletes who get the best score as a result of the three stages will be entitled to compete in the Grand Final to be held in TEKNOFEST 2022 Samsun. The winners will be awarded ₺15 thousand for the first, ₺10 thousand for the second, and ₺5 thousand for the third. In addition, the winner of the Turkish Drone Championship Grand Final race will represent our country in the World Drone Cup, which will be held within the scope of TEKNOFEST 2022.

The World Drone Cup, which was held for the first time in 2018 as part of TEKNOFEST, will determine the world’s best drone racer at TEKNOFEST Samsun this year under the leadership of STM Defense Technologies Engineering and Trade Inc.

This year, 32 best athletes from 32 countries will participate in the competition, in which the largest number of countries and athletes from around the world participate, and the best drone racer of the world will be determined at TEKNOFEST again. At the end of the competition, the first place winner will win ₺30 thousand, the second ₺20 thousand and the third ₺10 thousand.
