Competitions in Teknofest drawing great interest from people abroad, inside country
The deadline for applications to compete in contests organized as part of Turkiye’s largest technology and aviation festival Teknofest has been extended until the end of March.
“The extended application period for 16 different competitions will end on March 31,” said a press release by the event on Monday.
The statement pointed out increasing interest for the competitions among young people both in Turkiye and abroad.
Teams successfully passing the pre-selection stage will be awarded 12 million Turkish liras (some $810,000) and those competing in Teknofest and winning a degree will be given 6 million Turkish liras (some $405,000) in total, according to the statement.
The event will be organized in Samsun on the Black Sea coast of Turkiye between Aug. 30-Sept. 4. It will host several technology competitions – including vertical landing missiles,climate change research, hyperloop development, autonomous systems, and artificial intelligence.
Last year, Istanbul’s Ataturk Airport hosted the event. It is held in various Turkish cities in even years and in Istanbul in odd years.
