4 of 6 indices post increases, Indian and Singaporean indices decrease
Major Asian stock markets closed the first transaction day with mixed figures on Monday.
The Asia Dow, which includes blue-chip companies in the region, added 26.45 points, or 0.77%, to 3,459 at 1014 GMT.
Tokyo’s Nikkei 225 stock exchange increased 154.32 points, or 0.56%, to 27,915 points.
The Hang Seng, the benchmark for blue-chip stocks trading on the Hong Kong stock exchange, was the best performer of the day, rising 571.77 points, or 2.71%, to 21,653.
China’s Shanghai Stock Exchange increased 40.91 points, or 1.28%, to close at 3,236 points.
The Indian Sensex benchmark lost 93.91 points,or 0.17%, to end the day at 55,675.
The Singapore index decreased 5.34 points, or 0.17%, to finish at 3,226 points.
