
Türkiye’s automotive industry remained the country’s top export sector in July, generating $3.59 billion in exports, according to data from the Turkish Exporters Assembly (TİM).
The automotive industry ranked first among Türkiye’s industrial sectors in July, despite a 6.5% year-on-year decline in exports. The sector accounted for 14% of Türkiye’s total exports during the month.
The chemicals and chemical products sector ranked second with $3.03 billion in exports, while electrical and electronics exports reached $1.80 billion, placing the sector third. Electrical and electronics exports increased 15.4% compared with July 2025.
Among all sectors, fresh fruit and vegetables recorded the strongest percentage increase, with exports surging 144.1% year-on-year to approximately $296.2 million.
Industrial Exports Rise 0.6%
The industrial sector, which accounted for 71.3% of Türkiye’s total exports, increased its overseas sales by 0.6% in July to approximately $18.3 billion.
Agricultural exports rose 9.5% to around $3.2 billion, representing 12.4% of total exports. Mining exports increased 13% to $645.4 million.
Germany Remains Top Export Market
Germany was Türkiye’s largest export market in July, with exports of approximately $1.9 billion. The United States followed with $1.3 billion, while the United Kingdom ranked third with $1.2 billion.
By province, Istanbul remained the leading exporter with around $9 billion in exports, followed by Kocaeli with $1.9 billion and Ankara with $1.7 billion.
Despite the monthly decline, automotive exports over the last 12 months increased 4.8%, reaching approximately $42.1 billion, maintaining the sector’s leading position in Türkiye’s export economy.
