Banking sector loan volume was ₺8 trillion 777.1 billion last week

The credit volume of the banking sector increased by ₺25 billion 815 million last week and reached ₺8 trillion 777 billion 109 million.

According to the weekly bulletin published by the Banking Regulation and Supervision Agency (BRSA), the loan volume of the sector increased by ₺25 billion 815 million as of April 20. In the said period, the total loan volume increased from ₺8 trillion 751 billion 294 million to ₺8 trillion 777 billion 109 million.

Total deposits (including interbank) in the banking sector decreased by ₺40 billion 556 million last week. The total deposits of the banking sector, which decreased by 0.39% in the week in question, became ₺10 trillion 266 billion 335 million.

Consumer loans became ₺1 trillion 298 billion 425 million

According to the data, the amount of consumer loans rose to ₺1 trillion 298 billion 425 million with an increase of ₺280 million as of April 20. Of these loans, ₺405 billion 504 million consisted of housing loans, ₺70 billion 250 million vehicle loans and ₺822 billion 670 million consumer loans.

In the said period, the amount of commercial installment loans increased by ₺1 billion 269 million and reached ₺1 trillion 97 billion 546 million. Individual credit card receivables of banks increased by ₺5 billion 600 million to ₺604 billion 627 million. ₺322 billion 599 million of personal credit card receivables were paid in installments and ₺282 billion 28 million were without installments.

Legal equity increased

According to the BRSA weekly data, NPLs in the banking sector increased by ₺658 million compared to the previous week and reached ₺161 billion 333 million as of April 20. Special provisions were set aside for ₺139 billion 474 million of the aforementioned non-performing loans.

In the same period, legal equities in the banking system increased by ₺41 billion 275 million and reached ₺1 trillion 857 billion 376 million.
