Barlas Doner has been appointed as the new General Manager of AbbVie Turkiye, succeeding Mete Husemoglu, who has been promoted to General Manager of AbbVie Czechia and Slovakia, based in Prague. Mete Husemoglu, who has led AbbVie Turkiye for over 12 years since its establishment, officially handed over the leadership to Barlas Doner on January 1, 2025.
Barlas Doner began his career in the healthcare sector in 2006 and joined AbbVie in 2017. During his tenure, he served as Director of Specific Pharma, Hepatology, and Hematology-Oncology Business Units, playing a significant role in the company’s sustainable commercial success.
In October 2020, Doner was appointed as the General Manager of Allergan Aesthetics Turkiye, where he contributed to strengthening the company’s leadership position in the medical aesthetics field. Most recently, since February 2023, he served in the Allergan Aesthetics International Marketing and Commercial Operations leadership team in the UK as Vice President of Brand Excellence and Sales Force Effectiveness.
Barlas Doner’s extensive experience in both national and international roles positions him to lead AbbVie Turkiye into a new era of growth and success. His appointment reflects AbbVie’s commitment to driving innovation and excellence in the biopharma sector.
