Turkish defense technology company Baykar has signed a new agreement with Italian engineering firm Gruppo Esea for the establishment of a robotic production line aimed at advancing manufacturing capabilities in the aerospace and defense sector.
The agreement is part of Baykar’s broader strategy to expand its industrial infrastructure and increase automation in production processes. The robotic production line is expected to improve manufacturing efficiency, precision, and scalability for unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) systems and related technologies.
Gruppo Esea, known for its expertise in industrial automation, robotics, and advanced composite manufacturing systems, will provide technological solutions for the project. The Italian company has previously developed automation systems for aerospace, defense, and advanced industrial applications.
The cooperation comes as Baykar continues expanding its international partnerships, particularly in Italy. Earlier this year, Baykar signed strategic agreements with Italian defense giant Leonardo to jointly develop and manufacture unmanned technologies in Europe. The partnership combines Baykar’s UAV and artificial intelligence expertise with Leonardo’s mission systems and aerospace certification capabilities.
Industry observers view the new agreement with Gruppo Esea as another step toward strengthening Baykar’s European production ecosystem and enhancing its competitiveness in the rapidly growing global drone and defense technology market.
Baykar has become one of the world’s leading exporters of armed unmanned aerial vehicles, with its systems being used across multiple regions. The company has increasingly focused on integrating advanced robotics, artificial intelligence, and automated manufacturing technologies into its production operations to meet rising international demand.
