BIST 100 Opens Higher as Markets Track Lira, Gold, and Oil Moves

Benchmark BIST 100 index gains 32.76 points at opening bell

Türkiye’s benchmark stock index opened Thursday at 11,226.65 points, up 0.29% or 32.76 points from the previous close.

On Wednesday, the BIST 100 fell 0.4% to 11,193.88 points,with a daily transaction volume of 133.7 billion Turkish liras ($3.14 billion).

As of 09.50 am local time (0650GMT), exchange rates stood at 42.6090 Turkish liras to the US dollar, 49.9120 to the euro, and 57.1125 to the British pound.

The price of an ounce of gold was $4,213.35, while Brent crude oil was trading at $61.70 per barrel.
