The Borsa İstanbul BIST 100 index climbed above the 11,000-point mark on Thursday for the first time in a year, reaching as high as 11,027 points during the session.
The rally, which began earlier in the week, was fueled by inflation data released on Monday that came in below market expectations, boosting speculation over a potential interest rate cut.
Following the inflation figures, the index broke through the key 10,750-point resistance level and entered an upward trend.
The BIST 100 started the day 0.36% higher at 10,940.60 points and hit an intraday high of 11,027.82 points by midday. As of 13:29 local time, it was trading 1.04% higher at 11,015.12 points.
The all-time high for the index remains 11,252 points, recorded in July 2024.
