The BIST 100 index at Borsa Istanbul ended the day at 10,677.49 points, marking a 0.19% increase. The index rose by 20.54 points from the previous close, with a total transaction volume of ₺95.3 billion.
The banking index saw a significant gain of 1.87%, while the holding index dipped slightly by 0.04%. The top-performing sector was financial leasing and factoring, up by 2.15%, whereas the sports sector suffered the biggest loss, falling by 6.79%.
Analysts noted a positive trend in global stock markets driven by optimism that the US Federal Reserve (Fed) may start cutting interest rates this year.
For tomorrow, the domestic data agenda is expected to be calm. However, key international indicators to watch include Germany’s inflation data, Japan’s consumer confidence index, the Richmond Fed industrial index in the USA, and the Fed’s Beige Book Report.
Technically, the BIST 100 index faces resistance at the 11,100 and 11,200 levels, with support at 10,600 and 10,500 points.
