CBRT: House Price Index increased by 30.3% in 2020

In December 2020, the House Price Index was realized at the level of 154.8, with an increase of 1.7% compared to the previous month and 30.3% compared to the same month of 2019.

Housing Price Index data for the period of December 2020 has been announced by the Central Bank of the Republic of Turkey (CBRT).

HPI (2017 = 100), which is calculated in order to monitor the observable properties of the houses in Turkey over time and to monitor the price changes adjusted for quality effect, increased by 1.7% compared to the previous month and reached 154.8 in December 2020.

The House Price Index increased by 30.3% compared to the same month of 2019 and 13.7% in real terms in the same period.

Considering the developments in the housing price indices of the three major cities, in December, compared to the previous month, Istanbul, Ankara, and Izmir increased by 1.3%, 1.4%, and 1.2%, respectively. The index values increased by 27.9%, 30.2%, and 29.4% in Istanbul, Ankara, and Izmir, respectively, compared to the same month of 2019.
