Turkiye: 109 thousand 548 houses were sold in July

Housing sales throughout Turkiye increased by 16.7% in July compared to the same month of the previous year, to 109 thousand 548. In housing sales, Istanbul had the highest share with 15 thousand 724 housing sales and 14.4%.

Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK) announced the house sales statistics for July.

Accordingly, house sales in Turkiye increased by 16.7% in July compared to the same month of the previous year and became 109 thousand 548. Istanbul had the highest share in house sales with 15,724 house sales and 14.4%. According to the number of sales, Istanbul was followed by Ankara with 9 thousand 688 house sales and 8.8% share, and Izmir with 5 thousand 203 house sales and 4.7% share. The provinces with the lowest number of house sales were Ardahan with 27 houses, Hakkari with 40 houses, and Tunceli with 91 houses, respectively.

Housing sales decreased by 17.7% in the January-July period

Housing sales decreased by 17.7% in the January-July period compared to the same period of the previous year and amounted to 675 thousand 327.

Mortgage housing sales amounted to 14 thousand 533

Mortgaged house sales across Turkiye decreased by 24.1% in July compared to the same month of the previous year and became 14 thousand 533. The share of mortgaged sales in total house sales was 13.3%. Mortgaged house sales in the January-July period, on the other hand, decreased by 28.2% compared to the same period of the previous year and became 136 thousand 63.

3 thousand 633 of the mortgage sales in July; 43 thousand 132 of the mortgaged sales in the January-July period were first-hand sales.

The number of first-hand housing sales was 31 thousand 641

The number of first-hand house sales in Turkiye increased by 10.3% in July compared to the same month of the previous year and became 31 thousand 641. The share of first-hand house sales in total house sales was 28.9%. In the January-July period, first-hand house sales decreased by 14.5% compared to the same period of the previous year and amounted to 202 thousand 799.

77 thousand 907 houses changed hands in second-hand house sales

Second-hand house sales in Turkiye increased by 19.5% in July compared to the same month of the previous year and became 77 thousand 907. The share of second-hand housing sales in total housing sales was 71.1%. Second-hand house sales, on the other hand, decreased by 19.0% in the January-July period compared to the same period of the previous year, and amounted to 472 thousand 528.

2 thousand 801 houses were sold to foreigners in July

Housing sales to foreigners decreased by 28.9% in July compared to the same month of the previous year and became 2,801. In July, the share of house sales to foreigners in total house sales was 2.6%. Antalya took the first place in house sales to foreigners with the sale of 996 houses. Antalya was followed by Istanbul with 832 sales and Mersin with 263 sales, respectively.

In the January-July period, house sales to foreigners decreased by 43.9% compared to the same period of the previous year and became 22 thousand 76.

According to the nationality of the country, the most house sales were made to the citizens of the Russian Federation.

In July, citizens of the Russian Federation bought 772 residences from Turkiye. Citizens of the Russian Federation were followed by Iran with 272 residences, Iraq with 204 residences and Ukraine with 146 residences.
