ANKARA — The total reserves of the Central Bank of the Republic of Türkiye (CBRT) fell by $252 million in the week ending August 28, reaching $188.198 billion, according to weekly monetary and banking statistics released by the central bank.
Foreign Exchange Reserves Decline
As of August 28, the CBRT’s gross foreign exchange reserves decreased by $3.119 billion from the previous week, falling from $74.228 billion to $71.109 billion.
Gold Reserves Increase
During the same period, the bank’s gold reserves increased by $2.868 billion, rising from $114.221 billion to $117.089 billion.
As a result, the CBRT’s total reserves declined from $188.450 billion to $188.198 billion during the week ending August 28, representing a weekly decrease of $252 million.
The latest figures were published by the CBRT on September 3, 2026.
