Turkish Vice President Cevdet Yılmaz said the Istanbul Finance Center (IFM) will play a key role in positioning Türkiye as a global hub for participation finance, emphasizing the government’s ambition to strengthen the country’s international financial standing.

Speaking at an event focused on the future of participation finance, Yılmaz stated that the Istanbul Finance Center would serve as a “leveraging force” in Türkiye’s efforts to become a global leader in the sector. He noted that the center is expected to attract international investors, deepen Islamic finance markets, and enhance financial innovation in the country.

Yılmaz highlighted Türkiye’s strategic geographical location, advanced infrastructure, and growing financial ecosystem as major advantages for attracting global capital flows. He said the government continues to implement legal, administrative, and institutional reforms aimed at improving the investment environment and strengthening financial markets.

According to Yılmaz, participation finance has become increasingly important worldwide due to rising demand for ethical and interest-free financial systems. He added that Türkiye aims to expand its share in global participation banking and financial technologies through the Istanbul Finance Center initiative.

The vice president also stressed that macroeconomic stability and predictability remain top priorities for the government. He said Türkiye is committed to maintaining investor confidence while supporting sustainable economic growth and international cooperation in the financial sector.

The Istanbul Finance Center project is considered one of Türkiye’s flagship economic initiatives and is expected to strengthen Istanbul’s position as a regional and international financial hub connecting Europe, Asia, and the Middle East.
