Çimsa Targets $2.5 Billion Revenue as It Expands Global Footprint

ISTANBUL — Turkish building materials company Çimsa is accelerating its transformation from a local producer into a global player, setting an ambitious target of reaching $2.5 billion in annual revenue in the coming years.

According to company chairman Umut Zenar, Çimsa generated approximately $1.1 billion in revenue last year and aims to more than double this figure in line with its 2030 growth strategy.

From Local Roots to Global Expansion

Founded in 1975 in Mersin, Çimsa’s international expansion gained momentum in recent years. The company’s global journey began in 2019 with the launch of a white cement facility in Houston, United States.

This was followed by a series of strategic acquisitions:

  • In 2021, Çimsa acquired a white cement plant in Valencia, Spain for $155 million
  • In 2024, it expanded further in Europe by purchasing Ireland-based Mannok, marking its first overseas investment in grey cement

These investments significantly broadened the company’s product portfolio to include advanced building materials such as insulation and precast products.

Entering a $365 Billion Market

With its move into advanced materials, Çimsa has positioned itself within a global market estimated at $365 billion, which is expected to grow substantially in the coming years. The company aims to increase its share in this rapidly expanding sector.

Three-Pillar Transformation Strategy

Çimsa’s transition from a domestic manufacturer to a global brand has been built on three core pillars:

  • “From Local to Global”
  • “From Grey to Green”
  • “From Cement to Material Technologies”

The company has aligned its investments with sustainability, digitalization, and scalable growth, placing environmental goals at the center of its operations. By 2030, it plans to significantly increase the use of alternative fuels and waste-based energy.

Strong Export and Workforce Growth

Over the past five years, Çimsa has exported $1.5 billion worth of products to 80 countries, spanning regions from the United States to Australia and South Korea.

The company employs around 2,000 people globally, representing 15 nationalities, with women making up about one-third of its workforce.

Outlook

Çimsa plans to continue pursuing new acquisitions and investments both in Türkiye and abroad, with a strong focus on efficiency, innovation, and new market opportunities.

As it deepens its presence in Europe and North America while expanding into advanced materials, the company aims to solidify its position as a leading global player in the building materials industry.
