Corendon Airlines, in collaboration with Albrecht Dürer Airport Nuremberg, organized a special promotional event in İzmir and Antalya under the theme “Taste of Nue – The Sweet Side of Bavaria in Winter.”
According to the company’s statement, participants at the İzmir event had the opportunity to discover various aspects of Nuremberg, from its history and gastronomy to shopping and nostalgic traditions.
As part of the program, a special workshop allowed guests to experience making Nuremberg’s famous gingerbread. Attendees not only learned the finer details of the traditional recipe but also baked their own cookies.
Nuremberg stands out as a popular winter destination, particularly during the Christmas season. The city’s world-renowned Christkindlesmarkt Christmas Market, Rothenburg, and the region’s festive spirit attract thousands of tourists every year.
Turkish travelers have also shown strong interest in Nuremberg, with a sharp rise in visitor numbers from Turkey in recent years. According to data from Albrecht Dürer Airport Nuremberg, the number of Turkish visitors staying in the city increased by 43% in 2024 compared to the previous year.
The “Taste of Nue” events aim to showcase Bavaria’s rich culture, history, and culinary traditions to Turkish travelers, further strengthening the ties between the two destinations.
