Turkiye’s exports to Switzerland broke a record, led by the jewellery industry

Turkiye realized the highest January export of all time to Switzerland with $178 million 241 thousand.

According to the information compiled by AA correspondent from the data of the Turkish Exporters Assembly (TIM), Turkiye’s exports to Switzerland in January increased by 135.3% to $178 million 241 thousand.

With this figure, the highest January export of all time was realized to Switzerland.

While Switzerland is the 23rd country to which Turkiye exports the most, it is also recorded as the 6th country with the highest increase in exports compared to the same period of the previous year.

Turkiye’s exports to the country in question increased by $102 million 493 thousand.

The jewellery industry led the way in exports to Switzerland

Sectors within the industry came to the fore in Turkiye’s exports to Switzerland.

The 6 sectors that exported the most to the country were the sectors within the industry.

The jewellery industry pioneered the export to Switzerland with an export of $88 million 962 thousand in January.

The jewellery sector was followed by ferrous and non-ferrous metals with $13 million 327 thousand, automotive industry with $12 million 610 thousand, ready-made clothing and apparel with $8 million 429 thousand, Chemicals and products with $7 million 269 thousand, electricity and electronics sectors with $7 million 212 thousand.

The lowest exports to the country were ornamental plants and products with $2 thousand, aquaculture and animal products with $24 thousand, ship yachts and services with $148,000, other industrial products with $189 thousand, and tobacco with $237 thousand.

The jewellery sector led the way in the increase in exports.

The jewellery industry led the export increase by increasing its export to Switzerland by $85 million 348 thousand in January.

The jewellery industry was followed by the automotive industry with $2 million 541 thousand, chemicals and products with $1 million 412 thousand, electricity and electronics with $1 million 13 thousand, furniture, paper and forest products with $876 thousand.

Meanwhile, the furniture, paper and forestry products sector exported to Switzerland in the amount of $3 million 284 thousand in January.

On a provincial basis, companies from Istanbul made the most exports to the country with $135 million 86 thousand.

Exports to Switzerland were $10 million 254 thousand from Kocaeli, $5 million 849 thousand from Izmir, $4 million 72 thousand from Denizli, $3 million 784 thousand from Bursa.
