Aegean Region’s exports of fruit and vegetable products in the last year exceeded $1 billion

Aegean Fresh Fruit and Vegetable Exporters Association exceeded $1 billion in exports of fruit and vegetable products in the last year.

According to the statement made by the Aegean Exporters’ Association, the Aegean Fresh Fruit and Vegetable Exporters’ Association achieved exports of $68.6 million in the first 23 days of this year.

The Union exported fruit and vegetable products worth $1 billion 168 thousand in the past year.

During this period, Germany ranked first with exports of $176.5 million, followed by the USA with $176.2 million and the UK with $86 million.

Hayrettin Ucak, Deputy Coordinator of the Aegean Exporters’ Association and President of the Aegean Fresh Fruit and Vegetable Exporters’ Association, whose evaluations were included in the statement, stated that they accounted for 43% of the country’s exports in the fruit and vegetable products sector.

Ucak said:

“We garnish tables all over the world with a wide range of products. Fruit juices, tomato paste, pickles, dried tomatoes and canned fruits are our main export products. Our fruit and vegetable products industry undertakes a mission that increases our export income by adding added value to our products. On the other hand, in the export of fruit and vegetable products worth $1 billion 168 thousand in the last 1-year period, the pickled pepper group was at the top with an amount of $144 million. Dried tomato exports were $115 million, and gherkin pickle exports were $111.5 million.”
