Critical Minimum Wage Summit at Turk-Is

Turk-Is convenes the Executive Council to determine its minimum wage demand ahead of a pivotal meeting.

The Turk-Is Executive Council is set to meet on Thursday, December 19, at 9:00 AM, to establish a unified position on the minimum wage demand ahead of the third session of the Minimum Wage Determination Commission.

The process to decide the new minimum wage, which directly affects 7 million workers and indirectly impacts the entire population, is ongoing.

Timeline of Commission Meetings
The Minimum Wage Determination Commission, comprising representatives from labor, employers, and the government, has already held two meetings to decide on the minimum wage for 2025. The first meeting took place on December 10, followed by a second meeting on December 16.

The third meeting, scheduled for Thursday, December 19, at 11:30 AM, will be chaired by Minister of Labor and Social Security Vedat Isıkhan.

Turk-Is Prepares its Stance
Ahead of this meeting, Turk-Is, representing workers on the commission, has decided to convene its Executive Council at Turk-Is Headquarters. The agenda for this meeting will focus solely on the minimum wage negotiations.

Chaired by Turk-Is President Ergun Atalay, the meeting will review Turk-Is’s position during the wage discussions. Leaders from unions affiliated with Turk-Is will share their perspectives on the minimum wage demand.

Additionally, if no consensus is reached in the ongoing negotiations, the council will outline the confederation’s strategy moving forward.

The outcome of this critical meeting is expected to play a significant role in shaping the discussions during the Minimum Wage Determination Commission’s third session.
