The Ministry of Treasury and Finance has announced that there are no ongoing efforts regarding any legislative arrangement related to a restructuring law, commonly referred to by the public as a “tax amnesty.” A written statement was issued by the Ministry in response to claims suggesting that such efforts were underway.
The statement noted that certain professionals had recently shared false claims on social media platforms, alleging that “tax amnesty efforts are in progress and will be announced to the public soon.” It emphasized:
“As the Ministry of Treasury and Finance, we currently have no efforts or preparations for any legislative regulation involving a restructuring law, which is commonly referred to by the public as a ‘tax amnesty.’ These claims are entirely baseless and are aimed at misleading taxpayers.”
The Ministry underlined that on April 17, it had already made a public announcement on its official website clarifying that no such legislative work was being undertaken, and it strongly reminded citizens to rely only on official statements made through the Ministry’s verified communication channels.
The statement concluded:
“Our taxpayers should disregard these kinds of false statements, which are likely to hinder the timely fulfillment of tax and similar obligations.”
