Kocaeli became the export champion of January in the automotive industry

The province with the highest export in the automotive industry last month was Kocaeli with $595 million, while the highest export was made to Germany.

According to the information compiled from the data of the Turkish Exporters Assembly (TIM), the automotive industry was the sector that realized the most exports with $2 billion 230.2 million in January.

Although the exports in the automotive sector decreased by 1.6%, the share of the sector, which did not leave the leadership, in the total automotive exports was 12.7%.

Last month, the highest export was made from Kocaeli with $595 million. The share of the city in question from the total was 8.9%.

Kocaeli was followed by Istanbul with $467.5 million, Bursa with $434.7 million, Sakarya with $373.2 million and Ankara with $72.1 million.

In January, automotive exports were realized as $67.4 million from Izmir, $44.8 million from Konya, $44.2 million from Manisa and $29.4 million from Kirsehir.

Cankiri ranked 9th and Samsun 10th in the list of provinces with the most exports last month.

Among the top 20 exporting provinces, the highest increase was seen in Kayseri with 126.6%, followed by Mersin with 96.7% and Kirsehir with 77.5%. On the other hand, there was a decrease of 21.9% in Bursa and 19.4% in Sakarya.

MOST EXPORTS WAS MADE TO GERMANY

Germany continued to be the biggest market in the exports of the Turkish automotive industry in January. The sector’s exports to Germany last month amounted to $324.7 million.

Germany was followed by the United Kingdom with $268.2 million, France with $182.1 million, Italy with $165 million, and Spain with $146.9 million.

Automotive exports amounted to $117.6 million to the USA, $102.9 million to Slovenia, $95.8 million to Poland, $81.5 million to Belgium and $64.8 million to Egypt.

Other countries with the highest automotive exports were listed as Russia, Romania, Morocco, Netherlands, Chile, Hungary and Sweden.

EXPORT INCREASE WAS 477% IN CHILE, 41% IN THE USA

Last month, the country with the highest increase in exports among the top 20 automotive markets was Chile with 477.4%. Exports to this country amounted to $31.6 million.

In this area, Chile was followed by the USA with 40.8%, Egypt with 40.4% and Israel with 38%.

Automotive exports increased by 37.1% in Russia, 33.6% in the United Kingdom, 31.2% in Bulgaria, 26.5% in Romania and 24.8% in Slovenia, last month.

In January, the highest decrease among the top 20 markets was in Sweden with 40.6%, while exports to Germany increased by only 1.1%.
