Current Dollar to Euro Exchange Rates and Market Updates
The dollar-to-lira exchange rate has started the day at a historic peak above 33. Today’s agenda includes June housing sales statistics domestically, while global markets focus on the U.S. election and potential interest rate cuts.
Details have emerged on tax regulation changes affecting global and domestic minimum corporate taxes, alongside a hike in the exit fee from ₺150 to ₺500. Additionally, the minimum pension will increase from 10,000 to 12,500 lira, benefiting 3,703,180 individuals with a total budget impact of ₺33.2 billion in the first six months.
President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, following a cabinet meeting, acknowledged public concerns about the cost of living, emphasizing efforts to enhance welfare without falling into populist traps. Meanwhile, the International Monetary Fund (IMF) has raised Turkiye’s growth forecast from 3.1% to 3.6%. Overnight interest rates have dipped below policy rates again, with the Central Bank’s temporary liquidity sterilization auctions lowering the overnight market rate from 50.01% to 48.5% yesterday.
