E-commerce sector set to gather in Istanbul

On Sept. 28-30, World E-commerce Forum to host world giants such as Aliexpress and Zalando

The World E-commerce Forum is set to bring together e-commerce giants in the Turkish metropolis Istanbul at the end of this month.

On Sept. 28-30, the forum will host a projected 20,000 participants from 34 countries at Istanbul’s Wow Congress Center, according to a press release on Friday.

Omer Nart, who heads the event organizer Worldef, said the forum will be joined by more than 10 global marketplace representatives and generate a business volume of $2.5 billion.

Attendees will include China’s Aliexpress, Europe’s largest marketplace Zalando, Russian e-commerce giant Ozon, Latvian-based Joom, the UK’s Frugo, Polish Allegro, and Chinese firm Shein,the press release said.

Turkiye’s e-export volume is around $2 billion, and the event will host global marketplaces with a total market volume of around $250 billion.

The event will also welcome top officials from various countries, including presidents, prime ministers, and cabinet ministers, he added.

The forum will contribute to the goal of making Turkiye a global e-commerce hub, he underlined, adding that Worldef will organize an event in Las Vegas, Nevada towards this end next March.

“All the stakeholders of the world e-commerce ecosystem will meet at this event,” he said.​​​​​​​
