
ANTALYA, Türkiye (April 18, 2026) — Félix Ulloa, Vice President of El Salvador, has called on the Turkish private sector to expand investments in his country, highlighting growing economic ties between the two nations.
Speaking during the Antalya Diplomacy Forum in Antalya, Ulloa expressed appreciation for existing Turkish investments and encouraged further cooperation, particularly in areas such as geothermal energy.
“We are very grateful to the Turkish private sector and invite them to work in our country in other fields such as geothermal energy,” Ulloa said.
Strengthening Bilateral Relations
Ulloa emphasized that diplomatic relations between Türkiye and El Salvador are “in a very good state,” noting that both countries have recently opened embassies in each other’s capitals. He added that the two sides are cooperating politically and supporting one another on the international stage.
Strategic Geographic Role
Highlighting similarities between the two countries, Ulloa described Türkiye as a bridge between Europe and Asia, while positioning El Salvador as a natural link between North and South America, connecting the Pacific and Atlantic regions.
Following Türkiye’s Model
Ulloa also stated that his country closely follows Türkiye’s policies and international approach, suggesting that El Salvador sees Türkiye as a model in global engagement and diplomacy.
Focus on Investment and Development
Under the leadership of President Nayib Bukele, Ulloa noted that El Salvador has undergone significant transformation, particularly in areas such as security and anti-corruption. These developments, he said, have helped create a more favorable environment for foreign investment.
Forum as a Networking Platform
Ulloa described the Antalya Diplomacy Forum as an important opportunity for networking and strengthening international ties. He also participated in a panel alongside Türkiye’s Vice President, discussing regional cooperation and global challenges.
