Largest monthly increases seen in Lithuania, Bulgaria, Poland, Eurostat says
Industrial production in the European Union increased 2.5% on an annual basis in December 2021, according to figures released by the bloc’s statistical authority on Wednesday.
The annual average industrial production for the year 2021, compared with 2020, increased 7.8% in the euro area and 8.2% in the EU, Eurostat data showed.
In December 2021, production of non-durable consumer goods rose 8%, energy 6.1%, durable consumer goods 3.2%, intermediate goods 2.4%,while production of capital goods fell 0.8%.
The largest monthly increases were seen in Lithuania (33.3%), Bulgaria (14.3%) and Poland (14.1%), while the highest decreases were in Malta (7.1%), Ireland (2.9%) and Czech Republic (2.1%).
Meanwhile, on a monthly basis, industrial production increased 0.7% in the EU.
