European stock markets close higher on Wednesday

Germany’s DAX 30 performs best, surging 1.47%

European stock markets closed higher on Wednesday, recovering from Tuesday’s losses.

The STOXX Europe 600, which includes around 90% of the market capitalization of the European market in 17 countries, rose 3.6 points, or 0.79%, to finish at 460.1 points.

London’s FTSE 100 ticked up 27.9 points, or 0.37%, to 7,629.

Germany’s DAX 30 was the best performer of the day, jumping 208.6 points,or 1.47%, to end the day at 14,362.

France’s CAC 40 posted a gain of 90 points, or 1.38%, to close at 6,625 points, while Italy’s FTSE MIB went up 253.8 points, or 1.03%, to close at 24,878.

Spain’s IBEX 35 climbed 75.5 points, or 0.87%, to end the day at 8,769.
