
Mediterranean Ready-to-Wear and Apparel Exporters’ Association realized foreign sales of $30.8 million in July.
Gurkan Tekin, Chairman of the Board of the Mediterranean Ready-made Clothing and Apparel Exporters’ Association (AHKIB), stated that they evaluated 3 thousand 212 tons of products in international markets in July.
Noting that they increased their exports by 3.6% compared to the same month of the previous year, Tekin said:
“AHKIB realized export sales of $30.8 million in July. Our Union realized 76% of its exports to European countries. As AHKIB, we exported $6.6 million to Spain, $6.3 million to the Netherlands and $4.5 million to Germany. Our Association achieved exports of $14.8 million with a 7% decrease in women’s outerwear, $6.7 million in men’s outerwear with an increase of 22%, and $3.4 million in other ready-made goods with an increase of 15%.”
Tekin stated that they will make an effort to increase the export figures by making the best use of the opportunities that will arise at the Istanbul Fashion Connection Ready-to-Wear and Fashion Fair (IFCO) to be held in August.
