Exports with Turkish lira increased by 67.9% in 5 months

In the first 5 months of 2022, exports in Turkish lira increased by 67.9% compared to the same period last year and reached ₺40 billion 813 million.

According to the compilation of the Ministry of Commerce data, foreign trade with the Turkish lira continues its upward trend.

As of the end of 2021, Turkiye’s exports in Turkish lira amounted to ₺66 billion 784 million. In the same period, imports made with Turkish lira amounted to ₺116 billion 45 million. Thus, at the end of last year, the foreign trade volume with the Turkish lira reached ₺182 billion 829 million.

The increase continued in the first 5 months of this year

Trade with the Turkish lira continued to increase in the first 5 months of this year. While the export in question was ₺7 billion 21 million and imports were ₺12 billion 135 million in January, the foreign trade volume was recorded as ₺19 billion 156 million.

In February, exports in Turkish lira were ₺8 billion 572 million, imports were ₺13 billion 514 million, and foreign trade volume was ₺22 billion 86 million. In March, the aforementioned exports were calculated as ₺9 billion 275 million, imports as ₺17 billion 157 million, and foreign trade volume as ₺26 billion 432 million.

In April, exports in Turkish lira reached ₺8 billion 463 million, imports reached ₺17 billion 590 million, and foreign trade volume reached ₺26 billion 53 million.

Exports in Turkish lira increased by 65.94% compared to the same month of the previous year and reached ₺7 billion 581 million in May. In this period, while imports in Turkish lira were ₺19 billion 70 million, the foreign trade volume increased to ₺26.6 billion.

In the first 5 months of the year, exports in Turkish lira increased by 67.9% compared to the same period of the previous year and reached ₺40 billion 813 million. In the January-May period, imports in Turkish lira were recorded as ₺79 billion 465 million, and the foreign trade volume was recorded as ₺120 billion 278 million.

According to the data of the Ministry, the number of countries that export with Turkish lira in May was 158, and the number of companies exporting with Turkish lira was 5,720. In April, the number of countries to which exports were made in Turkish lira was recorded as 157, and the number of exporting companies as 6,683.
