The target for the electric charging socket is 38 thousand in Turkiye

It is aimed to increase the number of electric vehicle charging sockets from 3 thousand 378 this year to 37 thousand 946 in 2053.

Adil Karaismailoglu, Chairman of the Public Works, Reconstruction, Transport and Tourism Commission of the Grand National Assembly of Turkiye, stated that by determining the number of electric vehicle charging stations and sockets needed for the projection years of 2029, 2035 and 2053, they determined the optimum charging station location to cover all journeys in the intercity highway network.

Karaismailoglu, in his sharing on the social media platform X, formerly called Twitter, stated that environmentally friendly steps continue in his green transformation journey.

Karaismailoglushared, “The target is 2053 zero emissions. In order for electric vehicles to have a sustainable and accessible charging infrastructure in our country, we evaluated the spatial analyzes of the charging stations and planned in line with the variables of average journey, energy consumption, driving time within the framework of the Transport and Logistics Master Plan Model.”

In this context, Karaismailoglu pointed out that by determining the number of electric vehicle charging stations and sockets needed for the projection years of 2029, 2035 and 2053, they determined the optimum charging station location to cover all journeys in the intercity highway network.

“While we contribute to the future of sustainable transportation by promoting electric vehicles in our country, we will make every dream come true under the leadership of President Recep Tayyip Erdogan in the Century of Turkiye, and we will firmly reach our 2053 zero-emission targets.”

According to the information in the infographic shared by Karaismailoglu, it is aimed to increase the number of electric vehicle charging sockets, which was 3 thousand 378 in 2023, to 37 thousand 946 in 2053, and the electricity demand in electric vehicles from 2.6 gigawatts to 64.46 gigawatts, the vehicle times kilometer data of electric vehicles from 17 million 341 thousand 460 to 429 million 708 thousand 595.
