
BAKU, Azerbaijan — Senior executives from Turkey’s Fiba Holding held official meetings in Baku to explore potential partnerships in the fields of energy, tourism, and construction.
Fiba Holding Chairman and CEO Murat Özyeğin and Board Member Hasan Arat met with Azerbaijan’s Minister of Economy, Mikayil Jabbarov, as part of the visit. During the meeting, both sides discussed ways to strengthen bilateral business cooperation and evaluated potential areas for joint investment.
According to statements shared by Minister Jabbarov, the talks focused on expanding collaboration and identifying new opportunities for partnership between Azerbaijan and the Turkish conglomerate.
Focus on Key Sectors
The discussions primarily centered on:
- Renewable energy and energy supply
- Infrastructure projects
- Tourism development
- Construction initiatives
Both parties reviewed opportunities for joint ventures and long-term cooperation in these sectors.
Growing Turkish Investment in Azerbaijan
Azerbaijan has recently become a major destination for Turkish investment, attracting companies across industries such as infrastructure, mining, pharmaceuticals, and gaming.
According to data from the Central Bank of Azerbaijan, Turkey’s direct investments in the country reached approximately $1.2 billion in 2025, accounting for 18.7% of total foreign direct investment. This places Turkey among the leading investors in Azerbaijan, following the United Kingdom.
