Foreign Investors Sell $118 Million Worth of Turkish Stocks

ANKARA — Foreign investors sold $118.5 million worth of equities in Türkiye last week, according to data released by the Central Bank of the Republic of Türkiye (CBRT) in its Weekly Securities Statistics report.

During the week ending October 24, non-residents were net sellers of $118.5 million in stocks, $441.8 million in government domestic debt securities (GDDS), and $27.6 million in other sector bonds (excluding general government).

Despite the outflow, the total stock holdings of foreign investors rose due to market value gains. The value of foreign investors’ equity holdings increased from $30.66 billion on October 17 to $32.32 billion on October 24.

Meanwhile, their GDDS holdings declined from $15.38 billion to $15.01 billion, and other sector bond holdings fell from $593.7 million to $564.3 million during the same period.

The data indicates continued fluctuations in foreign portfolio movements, as investors adjust their positions in response to domestic and global market conditions.
