
Over the Last 12 Weeks In the week of June 14, foreign residents purchased $791.7 million in Government Domestic Debt Securities (GDDS), marking the first time in history that foreigners have bought GDDS for 12 consecutive weeks, with total purchases approaching $9 billion during this period.
According to the data, foreign residents purchased a net $791.7 million in GDDS and $12.2 million in Non-General Government Sector (NGGS) assets in the week of June 14, while selling $439.2 million in stocks.
Thus, for the first time in history, foreign residents have been net buyers of GDDS for 12 consecutive weeks, with their GDDS holdings reaching $11.2357 billion, the highest level since March 13, 2020.
In the week of June 7, foreign residents’ GDDS holdings stood at $10.6158 billion.
As of June 7, foreign residents’ stock holdings were $39.5171 billion, which increased to $40.3319 billion by June 14, while their NGGS holdings rose from $382.6 million to $394.1 million.
