Future of Electric Vehicles Discussed at ‘Second-Hand Electric Vehicle Days’ Event in Türkiye

2plan, which brings an innovative perspective to the second-hand vehicle market in Türkiye, hosted the “Second-Hand Electric Vehicle Days” event at Terminal Etiler, marking a first in the sector. Opening its doors on April 25, the event showcases nearly 50 second-hand electric vehicles simultaneously.

Running through April 27, the event offers visitors exclusive pricing advantages, flexible payment options, and various promotional campaigns. Participants also have the chance to win surprise gifts throughout the event. The driving competitions held in the Formula 1 simulation area set up inside 2plan Terminal add extra excitement to the experience.

Beyond just an event, “Second-Hand Electric Vehicle Days” has evolved into a comprehensive conference platform with expert speakers discussing the future of electric mobility. Panels and presentations addressed industry transformation and new opportunities in the electric vehicle sector.

During the “Electric Vehicles Panel” organized as part of the event, Mercedes-Benz Automotive Executive Board and Automotive Group President Sukru Bekdikhan noted that China is progressing quickly and decisively in electric transformation, whereas the process in Europe and America is moving more slowly. Bekdikhan also highlighted that the electric vehicle market in Türkiye has gained strong momentum in recent years, reaching a 12% market share, and is expected to rise to 20–30% within the next two to three years.

Doğan Trend CEO Kagan Dagtekin discussed the development and transformation of electric vehicles, noting that electric cars are attracting significant attention both in Türkiye and globally. Dagtekin pointed out that 15 out of every 100 cars sold worldwide are fully electric.

Former Volvo Sales Strategy and Retail Operations President Sabri Sozen emphasized that various incentives, such as government subsidies, are driving the electric vehicle transformation in Europe, while different dynamics are at play in Türkiye. Sozen also highlighted that the maintenance costs of electric vehicles are 75% lower compared to traditional vehicles.

Management Consultant and Independent Board Member Nilufer Gunhan, in her presentation titled “Future Trends and Automotive,” explained that changing consumer habits and emerging megatrends are reshaping many industries, particularly automotive. Gunhan stated that the automotive sector will increasingly become more polarized and that OEMs are starting to focus more on local strategies rather than global approaches.

Bakirci Group CEO Mehmet Karakoc shared insights on the importance of developing post-sales services and service infrastructure for electric vehicles.

After the panel, 2plan Executive Board Chairman Orhan Ulgur and Otoplan Chairman of the Board Mursit Unat presented plaques to the panel participants.
