The February exports of the electrical and electronics sector increased by 10.6% compared to the same period of 2021 and reached $1 billion 177 million.
According to the data of the Turkish Exporters Assembly, the exports of the electrical electronics industry, which was $1 billion 63 million in February last year, increased by 10.6% in the same period of 2022 and rose to $1 billion 177 million.
Looking at the export distribution of the sector on the basis of countries, the highest export was made to the United Kingdom with $129.2 million.
Germany followed with $109.9 million, France with $72.4 million and Italy with $62 million.
It was noteworthy that the electrical and electronics exports to Azerbaijan increased by 120.4% in February compared to the same period of the previous year, to $24.1 million.
Exports of electrical electronics to Russia last month increased by 92.9%, exceeding $33 million.
Among the countries where electrical and electronics exports increased, Bulgaria with an increase of 75.1% and $29.7 million, Israel with an increase of 35.6% and $40.3 million, and Poland with an increase of 34.9% and $34.8 million came to the fore.
The region to which the electrical and electronics sector exports the most, based on country groups, was the European Union countries.
Exporting $471.3 million to EU countries in February of 2021, the sector realized an export of $544.6 million to the region with an increase of 15.6% in the same period of this year.
EU countries were followed by other European countries with exports worth $171.5 million. Electrical and electronics exports to the Middle East countries increased by 7.3% to $132.7 million.
ELECTRICITY ELECTRONICS EXPORT TO AFRICA COUNTRIES INCREASED BY 21%
It was noteworthy that in February, exports of electrical electronics to African countries increased by 21% to $112.6 million.
Looking at the export figures of the sector on the basis of provinces, Istanbul was the province with the highest export volume in February with $617.1 million. In the said period, Istanbul’s exports in the electrical and electronics sector increased by 11.5% compared to the same period of the previous year.
Istanbul was followed by Manisa with $168.2 million, Kocaeli with $66.9 million and Denizli with $64.3 million in electrical electronics exports.
